A question about France and Europe?

• Hi, a group of friends and i where thinking of going on a tour of europe the summer after my junior year ( summer after senior for some of my friends) of high school. It works out quite well because 3/4 of us have a free plane ride to europe ( sweden, france, and hungary) we where thinking of just going on train to germany, hungary, holland, and france in 2 months, we have people to stay at in hungary and france, how much money to we each have to get so we can do this, no plane for any of us, we would be meeting my 4th friend in germany ( middle of everything) and then go from there what are the cheapest of the cheap ( we will sleep anywhere) options, for transportation ( is there a train pass for a few months?) and how cheap are hostels ( remember we have places to sleep at for around 1 month (france+hungary) i know it might be hard to understand but we just need an estimate on costs so we can all do summer jobs and get set (there will also be party costs...alcohol) but dont include that thank you in advance for answering my question im sorta clueless on the travel thing

  Hostels charge per person - usually from US $15-30 per person. Cheap double rooms in hotels start at $30 in cities like Marseilles and Liverpool, and go up to $60 in cities like Venice or Paris. Most will put in one cot for a small fee, but will not put in two cots - you will need two rooms for four people. You want to look at a "Eurailpass" - just search that and you will find they have a lot of options - you don't necessarily want the more expensive unlimited pass, you might get a cheaper one that only covers certain countries or that only allows a certain number of trips for free (so you use the pass for expensive cross-border trips and pay cheap short trips out of pocket).
