How To Send Money With Western Union?

How can I send money internationally aside from Western union?

  • I want to send a small amount of money to Ukraine as a birthday present. I've already explored these options: Western Union (rip off) Visa or Mastercard Gift card (It doesn' have a PIN and anyone can use it ... same as cash ...mail is unsafe for cash over there ... another drawback is it can only be used for purchases not for ATM cash) American Express gift check (until recipient signs top and bottom, anyone can use it same as cash) Visa Buxx OK but takes weeks to set up and is costly. I'm really looking for someone who has a tried-and-true solution that they have already used.

Try PayPal. It's not only good for paying for items (like off eBay), but you can just send money to a private person that way. Once you're set up, it's instantaneous. Good luck!

MONEY GRAM. or better...put the money in a postcard and some scotch tape to close very the post card. i do this very often, even when i send more than 100 euro and always works. good luck.

I have fiancee in St.Petersburg Russia and western union has been my best solution so far. do not know why you say is rip off. sure you have to pay more to send, but how much is your friendship worth to send it? I also have tried other venues and this works best for me. sorry if this does not help

Just don't try to send too much money ... if you send more than a few hundred they'll think you're trying to buy the place (at least you should get change!).
