Accommodation in Vaasa, Finland?

  • Hi, I'm from Bangalore, India and I'm moving to Vaasa, Finland for at least 2 years. I would like some information and advice about where I could stay, I have already checked out apartments via the internet and they seem reasonable enough (300 euros) but I wanted to find something cheaper. I've tried various sites to look for shared apartments but I've barely found one or two. So if anyone knows if there are people in Vaasa who might rent me a room or some kind of accommodation that a student could afford, please do let me know. Thanks :) Oh yes, preferably close to the University of Vaasa

  • Answer:

Unfortunately your chances to find accommodation for any cheaper is next to none, even with a student flat rent. As we Finns use the euro, it has made the prices higher anyway. The universities do not arrange any accommodation for their students directly, so you must contact the student union of Vaasa University or check elsewhere.

300 euros for an apartment is really cheap, I don't think you'll find anything cheaper. I take it you're studying at the university there, so contact them, there are apartments for students and they probably can help you with that.
