London to Venice by TRAIN - need help with finding reasonable fares?

Extreme help for traveling!?!?

  • Okay in 2 1/2 years when me and my friends graduate we want to go to Europe (London). We also want to take a train to Italy during the trip. I am having troubles figuring out how much money I need, I looked at air fare and it's roughly 1300 for a round way plane ticket, so I know that. But how much is bus fares? And isn't my money worth less there? So how much money do I need here to have enough there!? I have a place to stay in London but not Italy. Prices? What else am I missing? Help!

  • Answer:

Depends how long you're gone for. Northern Europe is more expensive than the south of Europe. Allocate about $50-$60 pr day for food, unless you want to eat fancy. Probably $100-$150 for lodging. Hostels might be cheaper. In a way it's easier the other way around, to be from Europe and travel to America, because everything is cheaper. Also, try the Lonely Planet guides.
