Power outlet converter if you have electronics you need to charge, maps of the destinations, if you go to a bookstore you can find good guides to each country and their particular costumes, Paris is trendy but full of tourists in summer, so dress casual, like slacks and shirt with nice shoes, London is too but depending where you go, so just use your common sense and read the books, you will have a blast..!!! As long as you don't wear shorts all the time (and socks with sandals) you'll look fine. For sight-seeing a pair of jeans with a T-shirt or a light shirt is fine, but if you want to for to a good restaurant, bring a jacket and a tie, and a pair of decent shoes. Don't carry a bag-pack with you all a time nor these bags on a belt, both will make you look like a tourist. I lived in germany for 8 years because my folks were in the AF. We did lots of traveling, went to all the places you went to. Bring the essentials. Warm clothes, light clothes. The weather changes dramatically so be prepared. Bring lots of film or camera memory chips because there is soo much to see and take pictures of. Do not be a traditional american tourist. You are going to another country, so don't expect them to know english. If you are at a Fleamarket, haggel with them, they expect it. Bring lots of change (euro change) because it will usually cost you like 50 euro cent to use a public restroom. If you get your picture taken with one of the people that dress up at an attraction, they expect payment afterwards, thats their job. Carry some american too, sometimes you get a better deal that way. But know the conversion rate, both to the euro and the local currency because there are always people there that can spot an tourist and try to rip them off. In Paris and London, pickpocketing is HUGE. Keep your wallet in your front pocket. If you have a purse, dont just put over one shoulder, put it over your head, and then maybe put a jacket on over it so that the strap of the purse can't be touched. They usually wait till your leaving the tube or the subway, cut your purse strap and then take off and get lost in the crowd. As for fashion... Americans are easily picked out by their white shoes. Europeans hardly where white shoes. So if you want to blend in, where dark shoes, jeans and like a zip up hoodie or sweatshirt. Hoodies are sort of an american thing too. But most importantly, be open. Dont go and get upset that things arn't like they are in america, cuz its not america. Enjoy the customs, the food, the walking (you will do ALOT). Dont go to the big tourist places to eat, but eat at that little coffee shop at the corner, thats will you will see the country at its truest. Have fun, and live it up. Theres nothing like it in the world!

just money! i am from austria and treavelled extensively there for many years. be ready for changing weather, different foods, always ask the locals where to go eat and you will have a good time. be ready to experience history and culture you can't find here. have fun!

come with as little luggage as possible ... OK you need some basic things like one pair of jeans, a couple of T-shirts, one shirt and tie, one warm top (fleece or knitted jumper) and a waterproof and/or umbrella ... your trip will be much more comfortable, especially given the number of places you're going to, if you don't have huge suitcases to carry around with you ... if you also pack a small container of detergent you can wash items of clothing and dry them overnight, and remember when you're travelling round people won't have seen what you were wearing yesterday... leave plenty of space in your luggage to buy things yes you need to take care of your valuables but Europe is no worse than a tourist area would be in the States ... we're not all pickpockets over here ... on no account use one of those "fanny packs" or whatever you call them, they're completely out of fashion here

Anything goes in London. Nobody would know...it is very multicultural and almost everyone is accepted. Wear an England football shirt...you would most definitely fit in.... Let me know how the trip goes.
