paris is sure a great city but it's expensive i liked amsterdam very much, and if you want to go to sunny places, try barcelonna or any city on the french riviera (nice, cannes, etc.)

assuming that the low budget allows you to travel to the destination, i would suggest portugal, lisbon would do in this season, its calm for a big city and the country is cheap!

When I was there in 2000, Budapest was very cheap ($5 US for a night at the hostel) and is absolutely gorgeous. The Gellert thermal baths are a must, as are visiting the Opera House and meandering through the beautifully architectural streets. I was only there for 30 hours and it has since been on my "go back to" list! Prague is also a wonderful Eastern European place, but from what I hear is getting more expensive. But again, gorgeous architecture, as well as many sights to see, many little shops, and a great nightlife.

Hello, I went to Rome not long ago and had the most amazing time. We did it on a budget, by flying with easy jet and found a really good hotel on the internet, which was close to the Colosseum - it does midweek and weekend deals too, so its not expensive. The sightseeing is fab and the Vatican is just breath taking. I'm sure you would like Rome. Another place where i loved is Venice, however not as cheap as Rome, as not many of the budget airlines fly there.

Do what we do, go where the cheapest flights will take you, last year we ended up in Budapest, £40 return flights with Jet2.com, and booked the hotel online, £30 b&b for 2 nights, the hotel was a boat moored on the Danube right in the centre of the city, absolutely brilliant place, cheap too!
