Any experience with EF Tour Company??? How are they?
-
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has ever been on an EF Tour to Europe before. I'm going with my school this summer, and I wanted to see what the travel/living conditions are.

Answer:
Yes, I have been before. There are good things about the trip and there are bad things. Overall I think the good out weighs the bad. Unfortunitally your transfer day by airplane to the country of your destination counts as one of your travel days. The first thing you will do is meet your leader, mine was fantastic and super nice. She told us tips, had fun with us, and even personally paid for our bus fare in london and a taxi fare in dublin. The good thing about the transfer day is that you will be able to see the city your in before your tours are the next day. Even if you aren't extremely close with the people going (I wasn't), you soon will be friends and recall fun times years after wards. Luckly you have already paid for your breakfast and dinner, so most of the time lunch just seemes unnessary (for me anyways). The breakfasts are just bland everyday. They pretty much consist of dry cereal and a bagel, everyday. So don't expect too much. I just preferred to sleep an extra half hour over going to breakfast. You will have no sleep on the trip which is not all that great because at some point it will all catch up to you. But staying up with the people in the rooms or in the city is worth it. Expect to fall asleep at three and leave somewhere around 8-9 in the morning. The hotels are actually nice, they are not 5 star hotels, chain hotels, or anything like that, but they are worth it. The first place our group stayed at was this breakfast/bed hotel where the owners lived in a little home right outside of the hotel. Everyone is willing to give helping hands. This is a huge tip that I suggest you follow, and follow it well. You absolutally must have lugage that you can carry up around 5 floors on stairs, and also carry down them. This is because the hotels that I stayed at didn't have elevators. I know it sounds like it is going to be a junk place, but believe me the hotels you will stay at are going to be better than most if not all of the ones that you have previsously stayed at. I went on a trip in 2004 to the British Isles and I liked it so much that I am going on another custom trip to France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. I really could continue on and on forever so if you have anymore questions just email me at [email protected]
