Will there be jobs in Russia for Physical Therapy, Nursing and Business?

  • I want to major in Physical therapy (7 years)or Nursing and Business(Administration and/or Management) as a minor I'm in my first semester and have Liberal Arts As a major. When second semester comes I will know my major and minor and I plan on living in Russia after i get my degrees and manage a lifestyle for a few years in the U.S. Do You think there will be jobs available in Russia at the time? I'd say in about ten years.

    Despite a recent hospital building plan, the Russian health service remains woefully underfunded. Maybe things will improve in time, but presently nurses get paid very little for working extremely hard.

Please rethink your dream. While medical type jobs are plentiful, there are generally more candidates than positions. As for Business, first learn Russian. This will take more work than your classes, but will definitely make you an asset for a western country that wants to put someone in Russia. Your pay will be much better working for a western company, and living conditions will be better too. Definitely specialize in business, accounting is better than general business management, and an MBA is also a plus.

Yes, there are and always will e jobs in this sphere BUT it is not the biggest challenge that you might face in Russia. You will need THE LANGUAGE! Without it you can forget about working in Russia right now. Plus you will need a work permit. If I were you, I would start looking for a job in Russia at LEAST in 9 months before actually going there - the bureaucracy is so bad that you will spend a while waiting for your work permit papers and for work visa. Still, if you are really determined to go to Russia, it is all worth of trying. Good luck!
