Do I need a visa for my traveling?

What type of visa would I need if I'm traveling to Russia for 1 month?

  • I've done some research about whether I would need a tourist visa or a business visa. I've found out that with a tourist visa you would need a fixed itinerary of places to visit as well as accommodation. With a business visa I found out you have more flexibility in terms of not being tied down to a fixed itinerary. I'll be mainly staying with friends in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Vladimir and Volgodonsk.

  • Answer:

My wife is from Russia and when we went last time we stayed with her grandparent. I rregistered my visa at a local hotel. Of course they charged about 30 dollars for this service but I did not have to stay there. Have your friends ask around to see if there is a place to register your visa. Also go with a tourist visa

For convenience please get a tourist visa. The business visa can often get complicated.

a tourist one. Either way, it so complicated. I really don't understand why

A tourist visa is less complicated. Stick with that. It covers one months stay, so why endure the hassle with obtaining a business visa?
