Cost of renting a flat in Moscow Russia and cost of living?

  • I have an offer to work in Moscow but need to know how is the cost of living there, what would be the cost of food at a regular market, what is the cost of internet connection, the cost of athletic club etc. Thank you for your help.

    I really recommend that you get on expat.ru. There are listings of real estate agencies and on the forum people will tell you what ever you need to know. I am moving to Moscow in less the 2 weeks (yikes) and I have gotten a lot of info off there. We are going to be paying about $1300 US a month for a one room apartment in a very good area. My understanding is that everything is relatively expensive but that if you stick with more local products it isn't too bad. I don't know about internet yet as ours is included in our rent. Fitness clubs really seem to run the gamit in price. Don't know if you can read any Russian but this websibe is a great database of gyms in Moscow: http://www.getfit.ru/.
