If a high profile politician gets arrested in Russia, what happens?

Lets say John McCain gets into a serious fight and puts his opponent into a coma, just as an example. Where would he get tried and would his political status play a role in the trial? Would he be deported to US and serve his sentence here?

I don't know who John McCain could put into a coma considering he can't even lift his arms above his shoulders. He would probably be charged for the crime in Russia and have to serve the punishment in Russia as well. If a foreigner commits a crime here in the United States he has to serve his punishment in the US before he is deported.
