How is Barcelona weather in February?

What sort of weather can I expect for the Algarve, Portugal towards the end of February?

  • I visited late last February and the weather left a lot to be desired, it was fairly reminiscent of British spring/early summer. It rained on and off throughout the day, was pretty windy, and while pretty mild, wasn't exactly baking - most of the time you needed a light jacket. However, on the occasions the sun did come out, and the wind was relatively still it was very pleasant shirt weather with the tempurature around 19-20, however, we only got one day like this. I'm considering going back again next February - is the weather I experienced this February typical of a summer in the Algarve, or is it generally better? People who I spoke to about the weather told me that this February has been worse than average and the amount of rainfall had been mentioned in the local media. Thanks for any information.

The Algarve only really has poor weather around that time of year. I went last November and was cooked like a kipper! From what i understand, Portugal has very good weather for most of the year (well the Algarve anyway) and is totally different from the UK. Temperature in general is around 12-14c in winter and can be as good as 32-35c in mid summer :-) Put it this way, The last time it snowed in the Algarve was back in 1956. Go in June as the festivals are taking place then too. Hope this helped.

It's mild "t-shirt" weather I guess. I went to the Algarve in April 2007 and it was windy most of the time, but it didn't rain. We braved it a couple of times at the outdoor water park and beach though, and although it was a bit chilly when the wind took hold it wasn't too bad. I think the weather in Southern Portugal during that time of year (feb) is typically mild, much like your last experience. It isn't typical of Portugal's high summer weather though, much less hot than the summer months. A million times better than Blighty's February weather though lol!

NatashaP...is back!

Well you can´t expect summer weather, but you can expect a little better weather than last February.
