• I need to get away. I'm considering Portugal for the weather, food, music and beaches. Who has traveled there recently what city to land and travel thru in portugal? How are the beach areas? what highlights do you suggest. I need a break from los angles.

  One option is to fly to Opoto, Porto in English, spend a day or two then take the high speed train, Alfa Pendular, to Lisboa, Lisbon in English. Visit the Museo dos Coaches in Lisbon. Then take the Alfa Pendular to the Algarve in the South of Portugal. I suggest Albufeira. Great beach (but it's not LA). If you go to the Algarve, avoid the English pubs as they are over priced and usually serve English beer and English food. If you want that, go to London. Wherever you go, consider taking as bus tour. In the Algarve and other places there are kiosks and offices called the Ticket Shop. They offer many inexpensive bus tours.
