Getting married in Portugal. What do I need to take/know?

• My fiancee and I are looking forward to getting married in Portugal next July. He is Portuguese and it will just be the 2 of us so we are going to have a simple registry signing...no big fancy thing at all. I was wondering if there was anything I need to know or take in order to be married there. I know you have to be there for 30 days beforehand and you need basic ID etc...any help would be useful!!

  My husband is Portuguese. We got married in the States, and I don't think he even needed to show his ID! It was the immigration stuff afterwards that was difficult. It cost us about $1600 and tons of paperwork from my side of the family to apply for his greencard. So far the process has gone relatively smoothly. Best wishes to you both!
