Do you know anything about Portugal?

Trvelling to Portugal !?

  • I'm going to Portugal tonight with 8 of my classmates at school and i was wondering if there's anything i should know about Portuguese people and Portugal in general. What language do they speak, are they religious, is there anything that will suprise me? thank you

  • Answer:

Well, the portuguese speak portuguese. The degree of religiousness depends. The north is typically more religious than the south, and countryside areas are more religious than urbanized areas. If there's something that will surprise you? Drivers are crazy around here. Be careful on crosswalks. I was almost ran over the other day - on a crosswalk!!

Nothing, they're cool, they speak Portuguese, why do you want to know if they are religious? I mean, I believe in God but that doesn't make me better than the others, Portugal is a very nice place to visit, beaches are good, food is awesome, principally if you like fish, if you go to Porto, taste Porto wine, you will love it.

You have a Portuguese name... We`re not religious at all..

- Portuguese (there's a second official language, Mirandese, but it's only spoken by some people in Miranda do Douro, north of Portugal) - Like anywhere else, some people are, some aren't.....I think the most part is religious or at least believe in some sort of power, not necessarily a God. In Portugal the most of people who is religious, is Roman Catholic. - If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore, right? You're welcome, have fun

I thought they spoke spanish but then i learned they speak portuguese (after i grew up), and i am brazilian. Portugal is more religious than most latin american countries (85% of them are catholic, and only 3,9% are atheist), and than most european countries. There are no orthodoxes and anglicans in Portugal, only catholics.
