What is Dusseldorf like?

Train platform for ICE train from Utrecht Centraal to Dusseldorf?

  • I'm going to Dusseldorf from Utrecht central station tomorrow, with ICE, but there is no mention of which platform the train will be at in the ticket. Since I will be arriving in the station from Leiden just a few minutes before the train to Dusseldorf leaves, I would like to know in advance which platform i should head to...anyone have any idea?? thanksss

Just another fake question by a troll; you have at least 21 minutes stopover time at Utrecht Centraal; trains from Leiden are arriving at 07:05; 08:05; 10:38; 12:38; 14:38; 16:38; 18:38 at platform 18a and direct ICE trains to Düsseldorf are departing at 07:29; 08:29; 10:59; 12:59; 14:59; 16:59; 18:59 from platform 14. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en .. @U_S_S_Enterprise: could you please provide any sources for your statements; I have never heard of the German Railway company (DB) recommending a 20 minutes stopover time for international connections. When I used trains to travel home from southern Germany I mostly had either 13 minutes stopover time at Mannheim or 6 minutes at Cologne and it worked in 95% of my travels.

You can look up your train on the DB website: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml Click on the details for the train you will be taking and it will give you the platforms.

For international connections NS and DB both advise to make sure you have at least 20 minutes changeover time. Take 1 train earlier - and you`ll have enough.
