Schengen visa for tourist are issued with a validation of up to 6 months and a number of authorized days of stay between 1 and 90 days based on the application. Since you have asked about an Eurostar ticket I assume you are a British resident or long-term visa holder and apply at the French Embassy in London. Schengen visa for tourist purposes are in general issued based on the itinerary provided. If you plan to visit France for 4 days - and that's it - you should apply for a single entry visa valid for 4 days. If proof of financial means (at least £40 per day of stay) would not be an issue and you plan to visit other Schengen countries you may apply for a multiple entry visa with longer stay.
