What kind of jobs can English speakers in the Netherlands obtain.?
-
If they speak no or little Dutch. I'm trying as hard as I can to being somewhat decent in Dutch, and I have learned many basics, but, if I'm not a native and speak very little Dutch, what type of job could I get?

Answer:
If you are office trained, or at least good with text or computers, you can try the job agencies for native speakers of other languages. English is quite common in the Netherlands, so your other qualifications will be very important. If you are a native speaker of an other language you will have less competition but also less jobs to choose between. Undutchables is one to them, but there are more, search the older answers here for a list if nobody puts it here for you. Besides that route you could go for factory, cleaning or hospitality work. Most of those kinds of work do have openings for people who do not speak Dutch. Some will insist on a basic level of Dutch, but I have worked in two or the three sectors and noticed that most companies can handle people with limited communication. Forget teaching English, unless you are an experienced teacher with an official education in the field. You might be able to find a few individuals who would like a tutor, but with the amount of native speakers of English around and the average level of English, real or perceived, the Dutch do not often employ casual teachers as is often done in other countries. When you are in the Netherlands go to all job agencies, in Dutch called 'uitzendburo' or 'uitzendbureau' and talk with the people there whether they think it is possible for them to find a job for you. And do not forget, while the work language can be English, in the breaks the Dutch are likely to talk in Dutch, not slowing down for the co-workers who do not speak the language yet, so if you do not learn Dutch you will feel isolated while working with the Dutch.

Assuming you got the work permit sorted out. Cleaners, there's always cleaning crews that will hire non dutch speakers. Your female so construction is pretty much out. LAte 1990s I was working for a client who got all sorts of administrative personell from these guys: http://undutchables.nl/ and half of them spoke next to no dutch. In the big cities there's also bars that are willing to hire english speakers. Last resort, perhaps you can offer english training.

honestly its gonna be very tough. do u know any german? bc dutch and german are very close.... but i know this because i lived in germany as an aupair and i was wanting a 2nd job but with the lack of german i couldnt. but what you should look into is possibly aupair work.. like i said i did it and it was easy to come by. basically u go there and be a nanny. and basically an aupair is a nanny who comes from a different culture and teaches the family ur language/culture and vice versa! then while doing that depending on the legnth of stay u can obtain a work permit, but to obtain it, u HAVE to take dutch. its a requirement, but again all that info is coming from my expierence in germany. the netherlands policy on such things.. but that is a possible option. you could also try ESL..... like being a language tutor/teacher. however you might have to have a degree.... try looking into like going to amsterdam and working at one of the popular hotels. idk what the reqiurememnts are.. i would also suggest looking into the ski resorts.. like you know how the foreigners come here and work at those places.... but a fair warning it might not be possible. i was trying to go to italy as aupair and u need a work permit for that . but basically i wouldve got denied bc they want to make sure that a EU citizen cant do that job... does that make sense... to this day im stilll looking to going back GOOD LUCK!
