  While there are parties in Amsterdam every day and getting wasted and laid are an option for those who have money enough to spend, do not expect to study. And while you can be registered at a school or university, you will have to study and show results for your visa to be valid. Most students are 'boring' most of the week, go out one night and have some parties. But almost all will need to borrow money to study and will not be willing to take risks on being send from the university. If you fail, you have spend a lot of money for nothing, ruined your chances on future travel to Europe for years to come, and it might have more serious consequences too. Weed is still available now, but funny enough, most Dutch use it with moderation or not at all. Tourists who use it too much have made the current gouvernment propose a 'members only' system, but as it is just being talked about now, nobody knows yet when and how it will be implemented.
