How do I get from Brittany (France) to?

Cheapest way to get from Brittany (France) to Amsterdam?

  • I'm really desperate to go to Amsterdam from Brittany, but so far I haven't found anything cheaper than ca. 180 pounds (train journey) - help please!?!?! I don't have a car, so it has to be public transport! Is there a ferry maybe?

    A ferry from Brittany to Amsterdam (if it existed) would never be cheaper than by rail. The cost of fuel would ensure that and would certainly be a lot more than 180 quid from Brittany to Amsterdam even for one-way. Brest, Nantes and Rennes are the main airports in Brittany and I checked prices for May on http://www.skyscanner.com Brest = very few with the cheapest being £278 return and 8 hours including layovers Nantes = only a couple of flights a month and hard to make returns, but cheapest if you can arrange it £183 Rennes = more flights but long layovers up to 15 hours and £219 being the cheapest I could see If you have checked out the train already and are prepared for a long journey then the other alternative is to go by coach - namely Eurolines, cheap but of course a long journey seated. You will have to see for yourself which is the closest Eurolines station to where you are in Brittany http://www.eurolines.fr/FRA/infos--services/points-darrets/nos-points-darrets-en-france/ but from Rennes then the cheapest return in May is 92 Euros (which is approx 81 quid ) and a little cheaper if you are under 25 years old. http://www.eurolines.fr/ENG/?lang=ENG I didn't really understand why you were asking for travel info in pounds from France. If you are travelling from the UK and using the ferry then look at using Eurolines from the UK for the total journey to Amsterdam (it includes the ferry) and it will likely be cheaper than finding your own way across the channel, and a whole lot less hassle.

By flying. On a bus it's gonna take a longer time. Train would also be a good idea, but the trip would be shorter by flying. If I were you, i would fly. In Europe there are some cheap airlines.
