How much will U.S. Customs charge me for a 30$ package from Holland?

pjalittle already answered the question in your other question. You are taxed on the cost of the package BUT you are only taxed on the value that you specifically give to the package. For example, if a sweatshirt costs $30, you write the description as a sweatshirt but give the value of only $5. This way you won't be charged any taxes. Everyone does it and there isn't a way to check that you are exaggerating unless the price tag is on the item and your package happens to get opened during transit. I send my family packages all the time from the US to England and I enter an amount of $10 when the item can easily total over $200. A couple of years ago my sister found out the hard way when she was suddenly asked to pay up $40 in taxes. This is after I had spent $40 sending the package. We decided that we would lie from now on.

u do not get charged a customs fee. the person who sent it pays the shipping fee which goes by weight, general cost of sending,,,etc....so the 30 dollars is paid. customs does not charge unless it is a huge amount of goods such as fake jpurses, foods, etc.... if it is just a personal package with gifts and such then customs does not charge...i send stuff to my parents in the states all the time and vice versa. there is no customs charge unless its a huge huge huge box or amount of a certain goods they think you will sell in the states. ive sent a 250 dollar package at xmas and they were not charged. the person who sends it has already paid. customs is just a checkpoint to make sure nothing is illegal coming into the country...it is scanned and if they are suspicious then they open and check the box and repack it. there is no charge.
