Would a Driving Licence (Provisional) be an adequate identity document for traveling within the EU?

Im an Eu citizen (British) I'm going to amsterdam on sunday but can't find my passport. Would a valid (provisional) Driving Licence be adequate identification?

Answer:
No, only government issued National ID Cards my used for travel in Europe in lieu of a passport. Most European countries require their citizens to be registered and issue those ID-cards. Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom do not have a National ID Card system and therefore their citizens need a valid passport to cross European borders although border checks have been abolished between lots of EU/EEA countries. You hopefully find your passport, otherwise you can't travel legally. Good luck!
