Delivery time from US to Australia via USPS?

USPS first class shipping internationally to the netherlands from the states delivery time?

• I know it varies but for how long? i shipped a packaged on the 7th of september and it was accepted at the post office on that day. I'm from the states (ny) and the package is going to the Netherlands. My buyer file a complaint on the 10th day because he was worried. Today is the 24th (forwarded 14 days) and I told him not to escalate the claim until i've spoken with someone at the post office of the situation. Just a few days ago, i called up usps and spoke with a machine to track down the package. It says it is currently unavailable at this time. I've been following the usps tracking website for several days and it hasn't been updated. WHAT could be going on? how long does it take? I don't want to lose 200$ on a shipped product that never reach the destination.

  It may take a while. It has to go through customs. Next time,consider adding registered mail and adding insurance. They provide $45 indemnity coverage for registered mail but that's not enough in your case!
