Does German embassy have Interview for Schengen visa?

Hotel reservation letter fax copy for schengen visa?

  • Hi All, I have applied for schengen visa to go to France and my visa interview is on 27th May 2009. I have made the reservation with a hotel and the embassy asks for a reservation confirmation letter directly issued by the hotel. I have got the email copy of the reservation copy and asked the hotel to fax a letter with all reservation details. Do they (Embassy) accept the faxed copy of the reservation letter? Has anyone faced to this scenario recently? thanks

  • Answer:

The outcome of your interview at the embassy depends on the person you meet there. Theoretically, they might deny your application because of the hotel reservation, or they might grant you the visa while not even bothering to take a look at the hotel reservation confirmation. Usually, something between these two extremes happens. The more documentation you can provide, the better. The more authentic and official the documentation is, the better. Definitely have both the email and also the fax confirmation with you. Some hotels have a web site where you can log in and see your reservation there. If this hotel has such capability, I would take a print screen of that too.
