How can I make $300 in two weeks?

Is €300 enough to last for two weeks in The Netherlands?

  • I'm hoping to stay in The Netherlands for two weeks with some friends. Accommodation will be free. Is 300 euro enough to get get around, see the sights and eat for two weeks?

    If you can cook your own food from the supermarket and do not go to a cafe (pub) every night, yes. On the other hand, if you want to eat out all the time and drink a few beers each night, you can count on €50 per day at least. Train or tram and bus is not very expensive, but if you stay outside the city, you should expect to use €5 per day for that. So it depends on your personal preferences. (Of course, if you go smoking and spending money on girls or shopping, you will have to add to your budget.)

lol Are you kidding me? Even in "poor" countries such as Senegal or India, that amount wouldn't be enough, if you really want to enjoy your holidays. With only 300€, I could have fun barely 5 days in Western Europe. And if you plan to do some shopping, you will spend everything in only one day. You should bring at least 1000€, otherwise you would get bored, and you would stay in your room watching tv...What awful holidays lol...Without money, that would be literally an "orange nightmare" haha..

Don't listen to all those comments. If you have accommodation, and perhaps a free meal now and again, you could manage with 300€ if: . buy food from the supermarket (no restaurants or terraces) . travel the cheap way (busses over trains) . don't step into tourist traps (some musea) Then you'll do just fine.
