How much would a train ticket to London be?

About how much does a train ticket from the The Hague, Netherlands to London cost?

  • I'm studying abroad in the Netherlands this fall, and I'm going to want to find a train to London from the Hague where I will be going to school. I need to find a train that will take me there and back that will fit into my budget. I've went to websites that book trains from those locations, but no results are appearing... Help please?

The cheapest travel option is mostly the Eurolines bus, takes quite long and is not the most comfortable way to travel I have heard. http://www.eurolines.com/ The Eurostar train, through the chunnel, can be bought from the Eurostar site or from the Dutch Hispeed ticket selling site. But the tickets are on sale from about 3 to 4 months before travel, if you want to buy tickets for both directions, you might need to buy one way first and the return later. http://www.eurostar.com http://www.nshispeed.nl/en for when you want to buy within the Netherlands. And as one of the other answerers mentioned, the site of the man in seat sixty-one has all information about train and ferry travel between London and Amsterdam, again, for a whole semester you will need to buy your tickets in two goes. http://www.seat61.com/Netherlands.htm For flights, google EasyJet, and Skyscanner. Flying to Amsterdam is good, your train to the Hague will depart from the airport without the need to go to Amsterdam, 25 minutes or so sees you in the Hague. But whatever kind of travel you select, tickets will not be on sale yet, not for Fall.

You have a couple of options - a train and ferry combination or the Eurostar through the Chunnel. there are complete details here: http://www.seat61.com/Netherlands.htm - much more than there is room for in this answer. You might also want to compare a budget flight option from Rotterdam or Amsterdam: http://www.seat61.com/Netherlands.htm

A return ticket booked well in advance can be had for 99 euro at full fare. https://treintickets.nshispeed.nl/d-cobs-web/preferences.html has prices. http://www.cityjet.com/destinations/city-pairs/rotterdam-london/ has tickets a bit cheaper. Train will take longer but it's more comfortable and you're not facing the security hassle.
