How long does it take to get a registered mail package from the netherlands to USA?

How long does it take to get a registered mail package from the netherlands to the USA? I live in Kentucky, and I was just wondering. Should it take a week or two, or 1 or 2 months? Is registered mail a safe way to ship? Will customs open the package?? Whats the chances?? Please help, I would really appreciate it. How long does registered mail take??

I live in The Netherlands and receiving a package from the US usually takes 7 days by priority mail. Regular mail can take more than 2/3 weeks. UPS is usually the fastest parcel company. Priority mail is, although way faster also way more expensive, I believe around 20-30 dollars. Sending a package to the US will probably take the same time. Customs always checks your package, so don't do anything stupid.
