How much money does it cost for one person to live well during one year in Greece ? Rent, food, etc?
-
For example, if I want to spend one year in a nice city, Athens or a city on the coast or in the islands , in a good neighbourhood ( safe place, not a ghetto) , in a 2 rooms apartement How much is the rent of the apartement? How much is the gas for a car ? How much is bus and metro tickets ? How much is a menu in a normal restaurant ? How much is the phone, internet, energy bills ? How much is health bills ( doctor, etc) ? How much money do I need for one month, for one year? I am Israeli, and I would like to spend several months in another country, to relax in a nice foreign city, and then come back to my country Thank you in advance

Answer:
Well, you need about 800-1000 Euros per month. Rent 300 euros Heat about 100-50 euros. It can vary a lot! Fuel about 20 euros per week, it depends on the place (0,9euros per litter). Restaurant about 20 euros for one person. Internet about 40 euros per month (ADSL) Phone begins from 15 euros (it is the standart)> You pay about 40-50 euros per two months. In the hospitals you don't pay anything, they are public, Doctor, about 30 euros-60 euros. You will have to pay electricity, water and maybe parking (not probable).

The answers already given, pretty much cover the question. I will add that depending the place you'll settle, the rent can vary enormously in relation to the rented place, if you coincide with the opening season of higher education Establishments. The stay in an island is a relaxing experience in the winter since not much is actually going on. Yet, on the major islands, Crete, Rhodes, Kos, Corfu there is reasonable medical infrastructure for normal cases. If the need of medical support is for a major health problem is best to avoid all except Crete. In fact, Crete is a big island and has a lot to offer on the sightseeing chapter, and milder winters.

An average rent may be around 250-300 euros... petrol costs around 1.10 euro per litre... bus ticket=0,50 euro tube ticket=0,80 euro hmmm restaurant prices vary but i think 20 euros would be very good if not 10 internet costs around 200 euros per year...and household stuff maybe like 100-150 i think 700-800 euros may be ok per month if u don't spend loads of money in nonsense ;-)

I suppoose you need to sign a rent contract, by paying 12 months cash. If it's 600 euros a moth, so it will cost 7200 euros a year. Other that, you should spend at least 800 euros each month for a nice standart of living ( I suppose you will enjoy the city, the restaurants, the night-clubs,the cinbema,etc)... And you will have to buy furniture and electronics too .
