Any ideas on a family holiday in Rhodes next August?

  • I would like to take my family to Rhodes next year. basically its a suprise for my mother, there will be 16 of us altogether adults and children, I live in East Yorkshire and would like any sugestions on flight and accomadation or who to book with any help would be much appreciated.

    Rhodes is the capital of Dodecanese, World heritage city, the island of the knights... I suggest you to avoid places such as Lindos or Faliraki to stay, even if the installations are luxury, because there is so much hot, and so much noise... I suggest you the place of Ixia, and generally the nothern part of the island, or the centre... Good tour operators are Thomas cook with flight included and very convenient accommodation... In case you need more information, you can ask me, i am rodian...and live here

u choose the best island,,leonarda has given and covered most information..regarding airflights and accomodation ,,u can get better deals through your local tourist agent ,,the earlier u book the better,,

Going to Butterflies' Valley. Visitng parks at the centre of Rhodes (at the main city which has a castle full of shops) -parks in rhodes are just amazing! Go surfing if you can and want. Go shopping, go to a cafe for coffees and refreshments or ice-cream

There are so many different facets to Rhodes! You can enjoy the beautiful old castle with the mosaics and the glorious history, and the cobblestone roads leading in and out of it, or if you prefer , hit the modern clubs and awesome shopping . There are too many things to mention, I would follow the links the kind Mihalis gave you and prepare to have a great time! As far as flights, there are many that fly out on a daily basis from Athens, or you could enjoy a boat ride over your choice. Hotels are many and I would recommend that you book in advance. Greece is a magnificent vacation spot and the people are gracious and kind, they have a word, "filoxenia" , roughly translated means befriend the stranger , which they take very much to heart!
