How to travel to Rottnest Island ?

  • I plan to visit Perth next month and I want to visit Rottnest Island. Can anyone tell me what is the cheapest way to travel from Perth to Rottnest Island? Please give detail where to get ticket and how much is the fare. Is spending one day in Rottnest Island is too long for the trip? Because I have very tight schedule. Thank you

    Here is a link to fares for passage to "Rotto" (the Western Australian vernacular name). http://www.socialtimes.com.au/rotferrydiscounts.htm You could post this query also in the Travel Australia section, and get a slew of answers... If the fares are a bit too much, you could also swim the distance from Cottesloe Beach to Rotto, and if you're really good at long distance swimming, you may want to enter the long distance swimming event held there every summer (it is still summer over there.) lol.
