Honeymoon in Greece thinking about going to greece...has anyone been there...if so what is your suggestion?!?!?

My husband and I had a 3 week honeymoon in Greece. We flew out of New York to Athens and stayed at the Marriot for one week. Before we left the states, we purchased a book of ancient Greek sites and for our first week we did just that. We then got on one of those big ferries and spent 3 days in Paros which was beautiful and then left for Santorini which we ended up spending the rest of our honeymoon. Beautiful and I would do it again!

Santorini is my favourite Island, It has everything including wonderful sunsets in Oia. Oia has a lot of cave houses perched on the cliffs and a nice restaurant to watch the sunset. The views are great. There are good shops and restaurants in Thira, the main town, with a long walk down to the port but don't use the donkeys as they are very badly treated. You can use the cable car to come back up. It is quite a small island and easy to get around by bus. You can also visit nearby islands on a day trip. The night life is lively with plenty of bars etc. Have a good trip

The best thing about greece is touring the islands on summer! On winter athens is great but only at night for partying etc

Been to Athens and surrounding areas and to the various islands. I usually stay at the Athens Hilton which is an oasis in the middle of a rather congested city. The islands (Rhodes, etc.) are really cool. Depends on what time of year you are going - Athens tends to get kinda smoggy during the summer and remember, there are a lot more diesel cars and, thus, fumes during the smoggy season. Can't go wrong with the islands - rent the movie "Mamma Mia". Best wishes on your approaching marriage!
