What are 4 interesting facts about Greece?

  • I have a project, and i have to have 10 interesting facts. 4 more!! I have tried searches with amazing things, insane things, cool facts, things like that, anyone help me? thank you!! please, i really cant find any neat things, they cant be boring, facts such as the word dinosaur came from 2 greek words...are cool..but im finding facts about population, culture, and those arent comical, or interesting!

Also, they also had a lot of homosexual soldiers (in fact it was encouraged!) because they thought that soldiers would fight harder to protect a lover. Also, during the Trojan war, everyone says that the Trojans were fighting the Greeks, but the Trojans were actually Greeks, too!Also, the Greek city-states (well, some of them at least) had the first actual democracies, where everyone voted for everything (well, all the men voted, at least)

on the island of cephalonia.every year on august the 15th.snakes come out of the mountains and out of their normal habitat and enter one of the churches there.the story behind it is that there were nuns from a monastery.during some war .not sure which one.but there were soldiers coming.nuns did not want there fate to be raped.so they prayed to the virgin mary and asked her to save them.she turned them into snakes.and now.every year.on her anniversary..they come to the church and drape themselves over icons and at the end of teh day.they leave again.normally these snakes are poisonous.but on this day.nobody in the church has ever been bitten

A legend says that In ancient Sparta they used to throw children with disabilities or very old people inside a hole on the mountain (called KEADAS) that ended down to a river (after a good fall) in order to get rid of them, because they believed that they were loss for the rest (to feed, to take care of etc). Spartans were very rough people that knew how to survive with the least they could use and also taught that to their children.
