Is Kos in Greece a nice place?

Nice quiet/romantic place in Greece to go?

• Hi, me and my girlfriend are thinking of a holiday to Greece next summer. Basically we both want somewhere nice and quiet that isn't out in the back of beyond and should be reasonably cheap to get to with a holiday company. It should ideally be by the seaside and have access to basic amenities but not the clubland scene (Zante etc out of the question!). Not a big resort with kids, huge swimming pools and sunbathing chavs on sunbeds packed like sardines on to the beach. Any suggestions would be greatgly appreciated. Thanks!

  Even in islands that are crowded, there are always beaches with not so many tourists and you always find spots with less people. I would suggest for you Milos (or Melos) that has amazing and one of a kind beaches but you will need to rent a car. Milos is considered by many people the number one destination for couples. The ferry to Milos is 4 or 5 hours depending on the vessel but there are airplanes going there every day during summer. http://www.milos-island.gr/ Other than that, there's Santorini. Very romantic, not so quiet though but the amazing scenery and architecture make up for it! Rooms with the volcano view are very expensive but there are cheaper solutions. You can find hotels that are in Fira (the main village or Oia), walking distance to the edge of the village where the view is visible and close to the bus terminal from where you can go to the beach. Perissa is a beautiful beach and Kamari also. You can take the plane to Santorini also otherwise take the ferry.
