Where to buy a camera online, and have it shipped to Athens?

  • Where to buy a camera online, and have it shipped to Athens? My camera broke down visiting the Greek islands, and now I don't have a working camera for the remainder of my tour of Greece, and I'm a little upset. I will be in Athens during the Easter holidays (March31-April6), and I'm not sure where i can get a replacement camera (repairing the camera is probably a waste of time), so I prefer to just buy a new digital point and shoot camera, and start fresh I always buy cameras online, and have it delivered with fast delivery (1 week or less). I usually buy on amazon, or a similar national site. There are always better deals online. My question is which site should I use in Greece (it should be in English letters). I could also use Amazon, and have them ship it to Greece, if you think that would be the option. A 3rd option would be to buy from a retail shop in Athens, but it's holiday period, and it might either be very expensive, or closed down. Any suggestions to make things easier for me would be greatly appreciated Thanks

    Since your time is limited, waiting for a camera do arrive, especially during the Easter week it will be a big gamble. You best option is to buy one from a local shop. There are so many shops that specialize on the subject that I can only give you a couple of shops to choose from. In Syntagma , right in the heart of Athens there is Public store they carry a large collection of cameras . Further down in Monastiraki is a FNAC store that also has a camera department. There is also a Media MArkt shop All have compatible prices that are close to the rest European countries Buying one locally will only ensure you will have one for sure.

Personally i would buy a Sony camera because if you get the guarantee stamped by the seller a Sony agent will/should honour the guarantee. My Sony agent did this when i moved to Cyprus from the UK although it takes a few month for the repair they did honour the guarantee. I wouldnt order online while your on holiday as there is no guarantee as to when your item may arrive. I dont know if u like sony but generally they build great electronic items that are reliable. If you insist on wanting it shipped to Greece i think Piximania would ship via a courier to your hotel but i would personally buy one in Athens as you dont want to take the chance of not getting your camera do you?

The best place if you want to buy online , and cheapest are www.e-shop.gr and www.multiruma.gr . In both of them you can buy online and you can choose from wich shop in athens you want to take it , straight away . Also if you go in Athens in City center are many GERMANOS shops and again MULTIRAMA . They sell mobiles and also cameras in the best prices . You can ask in the hotel you will stay , where is the closest shop to go and see .
