Is Kos in Greece a nice place?

Where in Greece is a really nice place to stay?

  • Me and my partner are going to Greece for our hols next year because neither of us have ever been. We want to go somewhere where there are nice beaches and lots of things to do and see including shops and markets and things but we also want somewhere where we can see the historic parts. Does anyone have any recommendations? It doesn't have to have all these things right at the centre of the place but at least in short travelling distance. A beach is a must though :) Cheers for any replies!

    For a first time traveler, i believe that Crete is the best choice. Its big, very well organized, great beaches and a lot of things to see and do. Once you "wet your feet" then you could easily hop to other places.

Cyprus is nice, big, and has many historical sighs and museums to visit, also Rhodes has beautiful castles and beaches, i personally love both islands

Well its not in Greece but its Greek.. Cyprus which is a perfect island with all kind of beaches and also historic museums and stuff.. Have a look at it on the internet

I'd say Crete or Kefalonia. Kefalonia has many historical sights from the time it was ruled by Venice.
