Could the greeks have built stonehenge?

The SH was build around 2000 -3000 BC with most likely dat around 2200 BC In that time in Greece we have the Early Minoan and Helladic eras. (you can search and find out about them) So technically it was possible, BUT, if Greeks did build it, First it would be close to the sea and second and most important it would look much much nicer.

In the 1950's a carving of a dagger was found on one of Stonehenge's trilithons.The archaeologist thought it looked like a Mycenean dagger,hence this theory came about that ancient Greeks had built it. However, the advent of radio carbon dating pushed the dates of Stonehenge back far before the Myceneans so that theory is no longer current. The dagger has also been found to be of a native British type that had not been discovered back in the 50's but has been found in burial mounds since.

Greeks lived in Greece - a fair ways from Britain. There great culture came a fair ways after Stonehenge was built - a couple thousand years if memory serves.

Off course..if it wasnt the greeks! or the mycanic or helladic or egyptians ..who buitl stonehenge.. then we have to assume an ancient NATIVE PEOPLES OF ALBION (england) built them . How ever kimon ..has intresting point.. about beauty....if the myceanians built them them then it is a possiblity ..that thier precison of hewing the stones may hve been done by them.. ,i say this becuase if u ever seen the exqistness of myceanian weaponary..is meticulous..prescise..to a satin finish as if a modern lathe turned out the sword. it has alwasy amazed me how stones of those size ..just like the egyptian blocks in the pyramids and the oblieks especialy.. can be so preciously hewend with out a laser cutting machine.. ,beacuse,, the only thing the myceanians had @ that period was bronze for all thier metals .. not even metal could hewn stone that precies... as a gemologist there can only be one thing they used in those times to cut a stone of that size so precise.. and that is diamonds.. if THAT is the case then any culture could have cut those stones if they had a diamond cutting tool... as diamonds are the hardest mineral known to man it will cut stones that precise and give metals like bronze a satin finish. So in conclusion if any one of those cultures knew how to cut stone with diamonds or a diamond encrsuted tool..then it a matter of finding proof of diamonds mentioned in historical anals..of those individual periods..or proof of a ancient diamond..vien.... as diamonds are found quiet deep usally ..it would have to be a upheaval of the earths,qaukes or volcanos to brign up diamonds to the surface. and iam talkinng about rocks like basalt and granite which are near to impossible to cut with bronze or metal.. how ever sandstone and and even marbel can be cut with bronze and metal... there is another methos of cutting stone in a primitive fhasion..and that is what ... HANNIBAL of the PUNIC WARS used to clear way of huge rocks when he was crossing the alps... and that is a method of ... HEATING THE ROCK AND THEN APPLYING VINEGAR it will crack it open where the vinegar trickels.. if the ancients use this method also it is a strong possibility.. they divised a crude tool to deliver a more pricese dosage of vinegar..to make it more precies. Personaly i like to think there was a more advance culture like the fabeled people of atlantis.. who showed lesser advance people what to do....but once u mentioned atlantis then everything comes down like a pack of cards... it all comes down to IREPUTABLE PROVEN FACTS AND PROVEN ARTIFACTS AND EVIDENCE. .. that will give u the truth full answer...

They didn't build it. Greeks weren't formed as a whole that time. Greeks were a national group very similar to those of our days. Greek tribes, even before they migrate to Greece, lived in places very distant from England.
