What are holidays like on the greek island of Spetses?

Spetses is a wonderful place for a holiday. For a start, it's not too far from Athens and the boats run almost every hour. I have done three language classes on Spetses over the last three years and I love the island. I am sixty seven, but there were lots of college students in our classes who seemed to be having a very good time -- they certainly got out to plenty of bars and tavernas and seemed to come home in the early hours with Greek young people. Unlike many of the other islands, the tourist population is largely Greeks from Athens rather than foreigners. Spetses also has quite a few nice beaches, most of them accessible either by bus or by boats that run several times a day. I don't know about snorkelling - I've never snorkelled. Come to Croatia where rich people go. Don't go to Somalia, Greece or Kyrgizstan where poor syndicalists make protests and dye in riots.

We don't have a civil war, just riots. Only three-four death people during the night, one or two during the day-time. Come, here is very safe. Spend some money here.
