Is Kos in Greece a nice place?

Katakolon, Greece - nice place for lunch?

  • I am going on a cruise and we are docking there for the day. Does anyone know a good place to eat near the port? Thanks!

    There are several tavernas along the seaside front. But missing the trip to Olympia is a mistake. Getting the train to Mt Olympus is not advisable as it situated some 700 km away and there is not direct line there. Neither is Myconos anywhere close as it is an island on the other side of the mainland and possibly the secret desire of the person suggesting it. However, Olympia is about an hours drive and worth the visit to the place where Olympics first started.

Right on the harbour are 2 tavernas both about the same so choose one that you like the look of. It is a fabulous place to stop,we went on a cruise and went there and wanted to pack our bags and get off the ship and stay there.You can also catch a train to Mt Olympus from there and save money on the organised tour! Have a great time there,we did.
