Answer:
The Laura Beach Hotel in Paphos is fabulous and an excellent base for many excursions. Not far from there is Coral Bay with a lovely sandy beach and plenty of water sports. Going on from there you are not too far away from Latchi, Polis and the spectacular Akamas Peninsula...not to be missed. In the opposite direction you have Kato Phaphos with the ancient castle and the theatre. This too has lots of cafes, bars & restaurants overlooking the harbour. It`s lovely in the evening with roadside stalls and corn-on-the-cob sellers. There is also a water park and a fair ground quite close by.

Try the Vrissiana in Protaras. This is set right on the beach overlooking Fig tree Bay, set in an ideal location, with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance, and from here, you're just a short drive, or bus ride from Agia Napa, and please don't be put off.....'Napa isn't all lager louts and booze cruises!! There are some great shops, bars and restaurants set well away from The Square, where most of the clubs are situated, and Napa has some beautiful beaches too. You can take a boat trip out from the harbour that follows the coastilne, passing Sea Caves, Cavo Greko, Konnos Bay, Fig Tree Bay, Flamingo Bay, Pernera, Kapparis, and, will turn around for the return journey when it reaches the buffer zone at the ghost town of Famagusta. The boat will usually make a couple of stops for people who want to swim or snorkel. If you are able to hire a car, then make sure you get out and about; take a drive up to The Troodos Mountains, spend a day in Nicosia, remember to take your passports with you, and you will be able to cross the buffer zone at the checkpoint in Ledras Street, and visit the Turkish occupied part of the town, then come back and have a wander around the old town and visit some of the lovely little tavernas tucked away in the side streets. Have a drive across the island, and visit Kolossi Castle, near to Limassol, and the Amphitheatre at Kourion, then from here, you can visit Aphrodites Rock, and a little further on, you will find yourself in Paphos, where you can visit the old fort in the harbour, wander around the mosaics at the House of Dionysos, and visit The Tombs Of The Kings too!! Theres loads to do here in Cyprus, and June is a great time to come.....not as busy as July and August, so you do manage to avoid most of the crods. I would suggest that you just bring a small amount of Euros with you, and then change the rest of your money at any of the shops or kiosks ( not the banks) offering foreign exchange, as you will get a much better rate of exchange than in the U.K. Be prepared though, Cyprus is very expensive at the moment!! I live in Xylofagou, just a short drive from Agia Napa.

Map of Cyprus http://www.map-cyprus.com/map-cyprus.gif Well, if you are both young, footloose and fancy free, then I suggest you head for Aya Napa - it's where the young crowd go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wu-iqGcYjE&feature=related More Cyprus links. . . . http://www.cyprus.com/cyprus-tourist-info-things-to-know-currency-south.php wonga http://www.worldtravelguide.net/country/71/money/Europe/Cyprus.html more links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUsBPkPfrok&feature=related Ouzo - http://www.greecefoods.com/ouzo/ Best local beer in Cyprus is KEO it's a light refreshing lager like beer. . .available anywhere. . . http://keobeer.co.uk/ also the usual mob of other lagers and beers etc. Have a great time. . .you'll love it. I was in Cyprus as a young sodier in 1960-1962 loved every minute of it. I'm going back with my partner this year - gonna be a load of fun, but our hol will be a bit more quiet possibly than yours. But please do remember this. . . ."Youth is wasted on the young." Oscar Wilde and youwill not know what that means until you hit the big seven oh like me. Enjoy. . . .

For peace and tranquillity you cant beat Latchi on the west coast. There are some lovely hotels overlooking the sea but pricey and one at Polis just up the coast which is good but not as expensive.Aphrodites baths etc around that area and also some great boat trips from Latchi harbour.Car hire a good idea as there are many lovely places to see within a couple of hours drive.

Le Meredin is an amazing hotel in Limassol on the east coast. We went there a couple of years ago in March time and it was lovely. Protaras (unsure of spelling) was nice for a day visit - would recommend getting a hire car whilst you're over there to get to all the different places.
