Below is what I said about Paphos (my personal favourite) a couple of days ago in a similar question:- Paphos which has class & culture is located in the south-west of the island and the city is separated by Kato Paphos and Pano Paphos which is the Ktima area and is the old part of the city and well known for it's market, small shops and boutiques. Paphos has some wonderful beaches including Coral Bay which offers a huge amount of water-sport activities. Lara Bay is a beautiful remote area with one of the best beaches on the island although the dirt track is quite poor, and its advisable to go with a jeep type vehicle, it’s worth the effort as some of the finest scenery on the island can be found here. It's also famed for its turtles. There is also Latchi, a small fishing village located on the northern coast of the island plus Polis and the spectacular Akamas Peninsula...not to be missed. Kato Paphos, a fabulous area with great bars & restaurants, perfect for people-watching...lol and is where you will find Bar Street, an almost round-the-clock drinking experience and located down by the harbour, close to the old castle where throughout September you can watch wonderful opera productions. Ancient Greek Drama is revived in July and August at the Ancient Odeon. It`s lovely in the evening with roadside stalls and corn-on-the-cob sellers. Also in Kato Paphos is Ayia Solomoni Church. Originally this church was a Christian catacomb and in the 9th century it was converted into a Christian chapel and by the 12th century was decorated with fresco's. You cannot miss it as there is sacred tree outside it's underground entrance which is adorned with personal offerings which are suppose to cure those who are named. Finally, there are the Mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings...both unforgettable! Larnaca & Limassol are two different resorts edit:- Cyprus Average Weather Temperatures:- http://www.cyprus-weather.com/article_cyprus-average-temperatures-c

Hi I agree with Pandora that Paphos is lovely, i have stayed all over the island for the past 20 years, I have stayed Paphos, Limassol, but for the past 15 years i have stayed in Protaras (Pernera area)as that is my favourite. The beaches are lovely and a lot of the hotels are on the beach. Fantastic island i just love the place. If you are going to go to Paphos or Limassol i would have to say Paphos, Coral bay is lovely, and safe , just be aware that some of the beaches in Paphos have dangerous currents.
