I think you should start with Ilyada and Odyssey. No historical fiction can capture the essence of the real historical fiction. They are easy and tasteful reads. And after that, have you tried Quo Vadis? Historical, fiction and literature to boot.

Totally Blunt

There are fictions about Ancient Greece but they are of low quality most of them. Just search in Amazon if you are interested. Sorry, don't know anyone that would worth recommending it.

The Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden is entertaining. He writes a lot of historical fiction, he has a 5 book series on ancient Rome and also has some on Genghis Khan which are good.

I don't know about any from those areas, but I just read an amazing historical fiction called Sashenka, by Simon Montfiore. It was so brilliant, I could hardly put it down. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/books/fiction/article4122996.ece I hope you read it, because it is just too good a read to miss. Let me know how you like it x
