How much spending money should I take for a week in Magaluf?

How much spending money should I take on a clubbing holiday to Zante for a week?

  • I'm going on my first holiday without my parents and I've been reading alot about how much money I should take because I have no idea! My parents are saying something like £200 will be enough but by what I've read £400-£800 is more like it! What is the absolute minimum I could take? because I'm paying for the holiday myself and being 16 I'm on quite a budget. Also, what kind of things would I be spending money on? Obviously drink and food but I don't know what some people spend ridiculous amounts of money on whilst abroad!

Hi Annie, I was in Zante last summer and had a fantastic holiday. If you want to know what excursions you can do on the island check out:- http://www.laganaszante.net/excursions-in-zante.htm What i did was book the excursions I wanted to do before I went and that way I took less money with me. If you are to do just the one I suggest cruise to Navagio Bay which is a beach that can only be reached by boat and is reported to be one of the most photographed places in the world. You can also check out the site:- http://www.zante.co which will give you an insight to the Island with many great photos. Have a great holiday.

It depends if your catered or self catered! also on how much you'll drink, and if you ant to do any think like trip to a water park, or go on a banana boat. :) im going to malia for a week and me and my friends are taking £500. hopefully we wont need to spend it all but there is money there foemergencieses. :) so it just depends what you need the money for and how much food/drink you will have :) hope ive helped :)

Hi Hun Hopefully this info will help you out. With your age i would say you will need to take about 300 minimum to really have a great holiday. You have to try and work it out by dividing your budget by the amount of days there to get an idea of how much to take. If you are going for a week you will probably be out every night but with you only being 16 you honestly will not spend a lot on alcohol. Spirits are cheaper to buy than the mixers out there so tend to be really strong. Be careful as the strength of drinks tends to differ from bar to bar so you could have a weak one in one bar and decide to buy 2 in the next place which end up being really strong. I made this mistake and i was boffing up lol. Just know your limits. Most bars and clubs will offer you bogof deals and stuff on drinks, plus free shots so you really dont end up spending much on booze. Most clubs are free to get in aswel unless they have a special guest etc, You can do day trips like waterpark (approx £27), boat trips etc but if you are only going for a week i would suggest just picking one really good day trip you all agree on and spending the other 6 days chilling by the pool, recovering and getting a nice tan to bring home. The waterpark is great so i would reccommend that. 50 Euros a day should be plenty, i would reccommend trying to get up for breakfast, even if you just go straight back to bed after as it will fill you up till the evening. We used to head down for breakfast about 8:50, go back to sleep till midday then just have snacks during the day. The heat puts you off having huge meals but i would def go out once for a nice sit down meal while you are there. Plus there is always McDonalds lol I went to Malia last year for 2 weeks and spent 1000 euro's, i was 25 though so could handle a lot more booze, plus we did like 3 trips, i bought a couple of dresses, gifts and also borrowed my mate 100 euros. That's why i think 300 will be fine, 400 if you really wanna feel comfortable that you wont run out Be warned, most hotels charge for Aircon so if you can not bare the heat be prepared to pay up to 70 euros for aircon in the rooms. Its a right rip off Have fun and be careful, 16 is quite young to be going abroad, i was 18 when i first went and it was a real eye opener. Do not leave your friends, always stick together and always keep an eye on your drinks....there are local lads preying on english girls so be very careful hun
