What tourist attractions are there in Athens, Greece?

    Apart of the wonderful Greek islands, Athens is one of the best places I ever visited. It is rich with historical, cultural and heritage value. Some of the attractions in Athens are Syntagma Square, House of Parliament, Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, Academy, University, National Library, Pan-Athenaic OlympicStadium, Hadrians Arch, Temple of Zeus. You must also visit Meteora and Leonidas Monument. If you are going from Singapore, I suggest you join a tour package. Google "Athens Tourism" and it will tell you everything you want to know. I was in Athens for 6 days in June and didn't run out of things to do. Take a one day trip to Delphi, it's worth it. There are so many good, small restaurants that it's impossible to list them all. We just picked the nearest place when we got hungry and were only disapointed once. If you take the tourist bus(blue line) it will get you to all the major attractions for 5 euros per day, with unlimited on and off privileges. Enjoy, we had a great time.

I suggest after seeing the acropolis, going a little trip to nearby islands, like Agistri ( nearly 1 hour from the port of piraeus ) or Hydra ( almost 1.45 hour ) . P.S. In Hydra cars aren't allowed so it's a great place for someone to relax. hope I helped !!!
