How Much Spending Money Would We Need for 2 Weeks in Cyprus?

  • Hi All :) Me and My Partner are planning 2 weeks in Cyprus End of May 2012. We are going Self Catering and will obviously need to Pay for Meals and any Food we Eat in our Apartment plus any Activites, Duty Free etc... How Much Money would you Recommend we Take? Don't want to be left Short!! Also Anyone know what the Temperature is like at that Time? Thanks in Advance :) Ami x x

  • Answer:

May is a great time to come, as by then itys warming up nicely! We had a slow start this year, with cool winds, but generally, by that time of year, temperatures are starting to easily reach 30C+. It has to be said, its not cheap here anymore, so its best to budget at around £80-£100 per day. We have had a few Lidl stores open up over the last few months, so if you are self catering, its cheap enough to do your shopping there; eating out varies from place to place ( you don't say where you are staying). This season, sunbeds and parasols have been 2.50 euros each. Its worth remebering too, that if you bring a small amount of cash out with you, change the rest of your money when you get here. You get a slightly better rate of exchange, not a huge amount, but every little helps! Live just a short drive from Agia Napa. Beverly; When did you come back to live in Cyprus?

Depending on where your apartment is,you may have to factor in car hire which will cost at least EU 25 a day plus fuel. We live in Cyprus and we allow 200 a week for shopping and fuel and the odd snack out.As you are on holiday you will be doing activities so expect to spend another 200 a week for those. The weather is usually lovely at the end of may so beach and swimming cost you nothing unless you pay for a sun bed and brolly. Take a cool bag with you and buy cold drinks from the supermarket to take to the beach as that is over half price compared with kiosk prices. Taverna and restaurants vary in price but you can get a good meal with wine and beer for around 30 euros for 2.There are the usual pizza places etc so you can get takeaways on other nights. There are good buses very cheap so you can use those for seeing the island if you don't hire a car. Hope you have a great holiday.

It will be HOT!! I'd personally take £1000 per person for a fortnight, anything less and you'll be sorry.
