Where is Sparta?

Sparti is in Greece. There are seven Sparta(s) in the United States of America. Sparti in Greece is in Peloponisos, Lakonia and that is where the English word "laconic" came from. The Spartans- Lakones- were men of few words.

The question is not where was Sparta, because Sparta is still there, and is now one of the biggest cities in the centre of Peloponnese, in Greece (3 hour drive from Athens).
