Is it safe to go to Greece?

Is it safe to go to Kos, Greece at the moment with the riots?

  • Is there somewhere safer to go on holiday with my boyfriend (still in Greece) or is this location okay? We want to go quite soon I'm 17 and he is 18

    Most of embassies advise people not to travel to destinations like Greece, Mogadishu or Bangkok in such times, and is the possibility the situation might escalate and occupy the airport in order to make their voices heard. I would suspect the islands might not be affected as in Athens for example, however it always takes a small group people with 'problems' to affect the tourists' life. Keep an eye on the news and Home office web site.

Dude, there were worse riots in UMass when the football team lost to some plinky-*** team from West Virginia. Trust me, you'll be fine in Greece.

Not that bad of course. We don't have a civil war, just riots. Only few death person per day. Here is very safe, come and spend some money cause we are in deep crisis.
