Greece, best place for us to go?
-
Who knew trying to find a holiday would be so difficult. i have been posting alot on here recently as i cannot decide where to go! I have just started looking at greece. Im trying to find the best area for me and my partner to go. We are both in our mid 20s. We want to stay somewhere that is right in the middle of been a young crazy nightlife town, and an original dead quiet peaceful place, and boy is it difficult, it seems to be one or the other! Last year we went to Protaras in Cyprus which was perfect for us, no big clubs full of partygoers, but plenty of family style kareoke bars, with entertainment and shows on to keep us entertained. The area itself was also lovely, clear blue seas, fantastic white beaches, and loads of excursions with history, and boat trips. This is the kind of place we are looking for again, perhaps in Greece, if we can find the right place...? This is where i need your help! All i can find is overcrowded places filled with clubs, or very queit with jst a few tavernas. Please help us find that place in the middle!

Nowhere ! CRISIS AT ALL LEVELS ! Greece is not able to solve this problems alone. We need our neighbor countries to send here armies and police to organize order.

Lodge at some Grek darkdaled boy. Every evening I go in the neighborhood at Why Not Cafe. Grek boys are offering themselves to us, Albanian workers. They beg: Lets play marmango, sir. (Marmango is Grek national gay dance.)

Hey Leanne ! Greece is a very good choice I am from Macedonia, Greece and I live Thessaloniki. You should come and see the archaeological and byzantine museums. Or even the White Tower, Kamara (Arch of Galerius) and the big shop streets. If you want something more quietly, there is the countryside and the beaches. -Macedonia has many mountains and valleys. There is the Mount Olympus, the tallest and most beautiful mountain of Greece. Or even Dion, the place where ancient Macedonians worshiped Gods is in Katerini. It is on a big valley, in a forest. Take a look at these two pictures: http://www.filoxenia-hotel.gr/images/filoxenia_beach/dion/dion_arhaia_133.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dx1YZKlma-w/SWw-_7qSo8I/AAAAAAAAABA/Buqka_tedbk/s320/dasos+sti+katerini.jpg -(C)Halkidiki has one of the most clean beaches in the Meditteranean Sea. If you're planning to go there, choose the third narrow place or "foot" as we call it. There is the Holy Mount Athos where only men enter. It is full of peace and beauty. If you are not a man or you just don't want to visit Mount Athos, you can visit a point above it. There are two great villages: Nea Roda and Ierissos. I cannot describe them to you, I have no words. Just take a look at these two pictures and you will understand: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/9781830.jpg http://chalkidiki-hotel.com/images/chalkidiki/Nea%20Roda/Hotel%20Alexandra/260/Nea%20Roda%20Beach.jpg If you want to see something more about Macedonia, you can google it. I just showed you the places I've visited and I love! I hope you'll have a great time wherever you'll go! Greetings from Greece! =)))
Have a look at Crete. It is a lovely rugged island with high mountains and nice beaches. Rethymnon in the west is what you may be looking for. It is neither ultra quiet or full of lager louts. In the east Agios Nikalaos (I've not been there as it's not my scene) is more lively as far as night life.

Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini are great places to go - great food, shopping, and nightlife.
I was in Kefalonia and Lefkada last summer and it was fantastic. It is exacltly what you are looking for not too crowded and its cheaper than mykonos and saintorini. Check into it good luck.

Hi, You should have a look at Argassi in Zante, me and my partner have been there for the past 3 years and love it!!!!! It its perfect there and sounds exactly what you are looking for. If you do fancy a messy night you are not far from Laganas, or if you fancy a chilled evening, get yourself down to Zante Town for dinner in front of the Marina! Hire quads or peds and take a chilled ride up to Kalamaki, and you must go to Banana Beach, they have excellent water sports there!! :) We'r going back again this July!!! You wont regret it!!
