Is Haiti just TOO dangerous for travel?

Traveling alone can be very dangerous. I repeatedly hear that one should not travel alone to Haiti. Why?

    Becuase Haiti is a 3rd world country. THey are undeveloped & have a very high crime rate & its very poor. It is the poorest country in the western hemishpere. Extreme poverty leads to extreme crime. Dont get me wrong, Haiti is a tropical caribbean island & has beautiful beaches & scenery, but it is very dangerous unfortunately. I am not saying you shouldnt go, b/c I believe tourism can help provide Haiti with money to do better. I am just saying dont go alone. Go with someone or a group & preferrably a male. Goodlk. Haiti is a very dangerous country in itself. It has seen political turmoil and it is not the safest place to travel alone in. Make sure that if you want to travel, travel with a well-known buddy. *danny*
