What's the western coast of St. Lucia like for snorkelling and Scuba diving?

Specifically, we're staying at The St. Lucian (Rex Resorts) in Rodney Bay, Reduit Beach, Castries, St. Lucia. I enjoy snorkelling and Scuba diving and was wondering whether anyone knows what this place is like for reef, marine life etc. Any useful links are also appreciated.
