Which is the best cruise line in India?

What is your favorite cruise line for a Caribbean cruise? 30 somethings, no kids?

  • I love the Caribbean...although I've only been on two cruises. One cruise was to the Bahamas with RC and the other was an expanded Caribbean cruise with Celebrity which sadly got interrupted by a death in the family (they were great, BTW in providing us assistance). I definitely want to have a make up vacation. We had travel insurance and were completely reimbursed for the unused portion of the cruise. I did really enjoy Celebrity (Millennium), but we are in no way bound to having to use them again. So I'd like to keep my options open. So which cruise line would you recommend for me? We are 30 somethings with no kids, may invite some friends along. I like a nice pool, a nice workout room, a nice jogging track. I don't need fancy night clubs...much more of a daytime person. We don't mind dinner at specific times. Love a sushi bar. We are an upper middle class couple, but still don't spend lavishly (I wouldn't spend more than $3,500 for both of us for a base price on a 7 day cruise)...we prefer a more sophisticated/luxury atmosphere (but with definite places to be casual) as opposed to a "budget" atmosphere. ...and if you are an avid cruiser, what ships, specifically do you recommend? ...also please consider ease of embarking/disembarking, crowd control, best ports, etc.

I am reluctant to suggest any cruise line without a more detailed conversation to find out what activities you both enjoy doing during the DAY, but since you mentioned you guys are not that much into the night scene..It sounds as if Celebrity is a good fit for you. When you mentioned in your post that "we prefer a more sophisticated/luxury atmosphere (but with definite places to be casual) as opposed to a "budget" atmosphere." it almost sounds like a page from one of their marketing brochures!.. I am a firm believer if it ain't broke don't fix it" my suggestion to book Celebrity but if you really want to try another line you may want to consider Holland America.. They do a excellent job as well and the service is amazing I think either would fit well into the description of what you seek.. Good Luck and Bon Voyage!!

Celebrity. You might consider Holland America, if you're planning a seven-day. They have a bit older demographic - whether or not that would bother you is up to you. The activities and night life will be much quieter than on Celebrity. The new Solstice-class Celebrity ships are supposed to be gorgeous. And the new Eurodam by Holland America is a bit younger than some of their other ships. Go to CruiseCritic.com and click on "Cruise Styles" to read about the styles of the different lines/ships. If you click on "Boards" you'll find discussions about any topic related to cruising. You might want to check out "Member Reviews" for any ships you want to consider.

I have been on cruises with Royal Carribean and Carnival. Food and shopping on the ship was comparable. Shows were much better on Carnival. However, it definitely depends on if the ship is newer. We have been on old and new cruise ships. There is alot more things to do on the new "oasis of the sea" from Royal carribean but, i'm sure that cruise ship will be VERY packed. So you have to think about what you really want and care about. If you go with an older cruise ship then it will be a lot quieter, probably less kids, but shows wont be as good and there wont be a lot like (pools, slides, rock climbing walls... etc). Dont know where you look for cruises but i'd suggest expedia.com and you can see what ships they are. Then check out the ship on the website for carnival or Royal Carribean. Have fun!
